Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) are are co-educational residential schools fully financed and administered by Government of India through an autonomous organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. These schools are established to provide good quality modern education including a strong component of culture, inculcation of values, awareness of the environment, adventure activities and physical education to the talented children predominantly from rural areas.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test
Std 5 Jawahar Navodaya Practice Paper.An Entrance examination will be conducted to select the candidates for the class VI admissions in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. The pattern and composition of the entrance exam is as under

Composition of the Test
Std 5 Jawahar Navodaya Practice Paper.The selection test will be of two-hour duration and will have 3 sections with only objective type questions. There are 80 questions in all for 100 marks. 15 Minutes additional time is allowed for reading the instructions.

Syllabus of the test:
Section 1: MAT- Mental Ability Test
This is a non – verbal test. Questions are based on figures and diagrams only. Questions are meant to assess general mental functioning of the candidates.

Section 2: Arithmetic Test
The main purpose of this test is to measure candidate’s basic competencies in Arithmetic

Section 3: Language Test.
This test is to assess reading comprehension of the candidates. The test consists of four passages. Each passage is followed by 5 questions.

Selection Test

Each candidate shall appear for the selection test at the exam center allotted to him/her as indicated on the Admit Card. No candidate is permitted to appear from any other center. No request for change of center will be entertained
No candidate can appear in the selection test without proper Admit Card. Admit card may be downloaded from the website of NVS, HQ www.navodaya.gov.in

Language of the Exam
The exam will be conducted in 21 languages including Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, English, Garo, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Khasi, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Mizo, Oriya, Punjabi, Sindhi (Arabic), Sindhi (Devnagri), Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and Nepali

Composition of the Test
The selection test will be of two-hour duration from 11:30 am to 01:30 pm and will have 3 sections with only objective type questions. There are 80 questions in all for 100 marks. 15 Minutes additional time is allowed for reading the instructions. Hence, the candidates have to report latest by 11:00 AM on 11th January 2020
1. Mental Ability Test - 40 No. of Questions; 50 Marks (Duration: 60 minutes)
2. Arithmetic Test - 20 No. of Questions; 25 Marks (Duration: 30 minutes)
3. Language Test - 20 No. of Questions; 25 Marks (Duration: 30 minutes)
Total - 80 No. of Questions; 100 Marks (Duration: 2 Hours)
A single test booklet comprising of all the three sections will be given to each candidate. Additional time of 30 minutes will be allowed for “Divyang students” (differently-abled students)

JNVST selection list class 6, 9 & 11: After successful Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Test each year, NVS releases JNVST selection/waiting list for appeared students. Candidate can check JNVST class 9, 6 selected candidate PDF file from nvshq.org, navodaya.gov.in website here. The JNVST selection list and second/waiting list will be out in region-wise PDF file, which will be then divided into the state; district wise; rural/urban wise in which it will be again distributed in open (OBC and general), ST, SC & disabled category.
